Background and purpose of the role:

Surveyors form the fundamental building blocks of our projects. In general, all of our plant is controlled via 3D machine control and survey is all conducted via GPS & UAV. There will be occasions where ‘traditional’ set-out is required such as batter rails etc, you will need to be proficient with these, however, the core skill set will be proficiency around staking, measuring & machine control support using Trimble, Leica and Topcon systems.

The role’s purpose is to review models/designs for upload to machines, create temporary earthworks designs, ensure the smooth operations of our machine guidance systems & resolve all issues.

The role will be supported by the Survey Manager; however, it is assumed at this level, that the role is largely free of ‘hand holding’ and that the person will be fully competent in machine guidance systems and 3D modelling. The person will be expected to mentor Apprentice Surveyors one-to-one out in the field on a work shadow basis.

In the office, the Surveyor will be responsible for the clean-up and handover of all design models using the appropriate modelling software as directed by the Survey Manager.

In so doing, the postholder will be instrumental in achieving the Company’s mission statement in accordance with the Company’s values which are:
