The Health & Safety Manager will actively support the delivery team in achieving an incident-free project through the development of a positive safety culture and the implementation of effective risk management processes.\n\nThe role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to: -\n\nLeading the development and implementation of the project Health & Safety Management Plan and wellbeing strategy.\n\nPromoting a positive safety culture through behavioural safety and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nEnsuring compliance with health and safety legislation, client requirements and nuclear industry standards.\n\nConducting audits, inspections and assurance reviews across project activities.\n\nLeading risk assessments, reviewing RAMS and supporting effective risk management processes.\n\nManaging contractor safety performance, competence assessments and improvement programmes.\n\nLeading incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.\n\nProducing safety performance reports and providing guidance to project leadership teams.\n\nThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills\u002Fexperience\u002F attributes:\n\nQualifications: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) and Graduate or Chartered IOSH membership.\n\nExperience: Minimum 10 years' health and safety experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or industrial sectors.\n\nProject Experience: Proven experience managing health and safety on major projects valued in excess of £20 million.\n\nLeadership: Experience leading site-based health and safety teams and developing safety management systems.\n\nTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, risk management, audits and incident investigations.\n\nCommunication: Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills.\n\nDriving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.\n\nDesirable: Experience within nuclear, water, wastewater, process plant or major infrastructure environments.\n\nWhat we do:\n\nS&B Utilities is committed to providing reliable and efficient mechanical and electrical services to our community.
