The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the successful planning, coordination and delivery of the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP) and potable Water Plant (PWP) project at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.
The role supports the management of all project phases including design development, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover. The Assistant Project Manager will coordinate project activities, maintain project controls, support stakeholder engagement and contribute to the achievement of project objectives relating to safety, programme, cost, quality and operational readiness.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to:
- Supporting the Project Manager with the day-to-day coordination of project activities and project delivery.
- Assisting with project planning, programme monitoring and milestone tracking.
- Maintaining project documentation, reports, dashboards and governance records.
- Supporting budget monitoring, cost reporting and change management activities.
- Assisting with risk and opportunity management, including maintaining project registers and tracking mitigation actions.
- Coordinating communication between contractors, suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Promoting compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements in a highly regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:
- Qualifications: Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
- Project Management: APM PFQ or working towards APM PMQ.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience supporting projects within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities or manufacturing sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Communication: Strong organisational, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Project Controls: Experience monitoring actions, risks, costs and programme activities.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
- Desirable: Experience within major infrastructure, utilities, energy or nuclear projects, and exposure to planning, commercial or project controls functions.
