The Construction Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of all construction activities associated with the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the Foul Treatment Foul Treatment Plant (FTP) and Potable Water Plant (PWP) at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.
Operating within a highly regulated nuclear environment, the Construction Manager will lead multidisciplinary contractor teams, coordinate interfaces with engineering, commissioning and operations personnel, and ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project requirements, nuclear safety standards, environmental obligations and quality expectations.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to: -
- Leading all onsite construction activities across civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
- Managing contractors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all work activities.
- Coordinating construction sequencing, logistics and multiple work fronts.
- Monitoring programme performance and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Overseeing quality inspections, testing requirements and defect resolution.
- Managing interfaces between construction, engineering and commissioning teams.
- Supporting testing, commissioning and successful handover to operations teams.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale construction, infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Qualifications: HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Health & Safety: SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractor performance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong civil, mechanical and electrical construction knowledge.
- Regulated Industries: Experience working within highly regulated environments.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
- Desirable: Experience within nuclear, water treatment, wastewater treatment, process plant or major infrastructure projects.
