The MEICA Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, coordination and assurance of all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) activities associated with the design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP) and Potable Water Plant (PWP) at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.

Working within a highly regulated nuclear construction environment, the MEICA Manager will manage engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, installation contractors and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle. The role will ensure that all MEICA systems are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in accordance with project programme and budget requirements.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to: -

  • Leading all MEICA design, construction and commissioning activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Managing engineering consultants, specialist contractors, suppliers and commissioning teams.
  • Providing technical assurance for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Overseeing the delivery of pumps, pipework, valves, tanks, process equipment and electrical infrastructure.
  • Coordinating PLC, SCADA, telemetry and control system integration.
  • Leading testing, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
  • Monitoring programme, cost, quality and contractor performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with project, regulatory and nuclear industry requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:

  1. Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Professional Status: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards chartership, with membership of a recognised professional institution.
  3. Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience delivering MEICA packages on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or industrial projects.
  4. Technical Expertise: Proven experience managing mechanical and electrical installations from design through commissioning.
  5. Leadership: Strong contractor, supplier and multidisciplinary team management experience.
  6. Systems Knowledge: Experience with process plant, water treatment, wastewater treatment, SCADA, PLC and automation systems.
  7. Commercial Awareness: Experience supporting procurement, cost forecasting and change management activities.
  8. Desirable: Experience within nuclear, major infrastructure or highly regulated environments.
